well i played it in gym class, and there are leagues in the USA...mostly through colleges or community education programs...i think there are other leagues too...they just aren't common

Ah, you Americans...you don't even know what's happening in your own country, never mind others.
There are professional handball leagues in Europe, the largest being in France and Germany.

i played it in gym in high school, and there is an intermural team at my university
