Pls. include your orientation (I'm gay).

I did not intend to offend anyone, I was just curious whether other non-straight people would trade their sexual orientation for an easier and more widely accepted lifestyle without all the distress they have gone through.

I understand the question, as there are definitely some gay people that think they'd have life easier if they were straight (and in some ways, that's probably true)... For me, there's no way in hell I'd take it. I love my life, and I live to challenge stereotypes. I don't wish I were straight, despite the fact that the things I want will come harder to be because I'm not...like having children, for example. I'm proud of who I am, I've found a loving and committed relationship, and I wouldn't trade that for all the "fitting in" in the world.

No, after all the struggles I went through to simply accept myself.
One would think that because of the struggle that opting for a magic pill would solve everything, but no, it think it would degrade the journey to get to personal acceptance and simply be a way to satiate the unaccepting majority.
To me it would be a terrible insult and slap in the face of all the lesbians/gays/bisexuals and transgenders who have come before me. All those who have had to take the same journey I had.
To simply give up and give in to the pressures of society would be a kind of defeat I won't tolerate.

Look, we're gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered for a reason. Whatever that reason, I don't know but I'm bound and determined to at least keep my eyes wide open as I continue my journey. No more walking around with the blinders of ignorance and self-hatred. No longer burdened by shame or depression I move onward and hopefully upward.

I'm gay and never ever would I trade what I am for anything else. I have always had loads of friends and lots of love. I have a wonderful lover and a wonderful life -- and no, I would never trade away what I am, it has been and continues to be the best life I can even imagine -- many of our straight friends agree.

No F-ing way! God made me a lesbian for a reason and Im VERY happy with my life and lifestyle!

I wont change my life so I can fit into "the norm"...how boring would life be if everyone was the same? I love that there are straight people, gay & lesbians, bisexuals...different races and religions...it makes the world interesting and entertaining...we just need to get everyone to be accepting of these different groups...

Besides...I think its kind of fun to see the conservative ppl squirm when they see me and my gf holding hands and kissing in public... =o)

And give up the love of six years? No, I'd hate to be parted from him.

Those that would seek to change their orientation are unhappy about their lives, and belief their sexual activity is to blame. If they could wave that magic wand, they'd still be unhappy but they would have to find something else to blame.

I am happy as nature made me.

Oh, hell no!!!

Being bi, I like boys already. I made a commitment to my wife because I love her. I would not want to no longer be attracted to her. I would not want to desert my friends, or the kind lesbians and gays who gave me opportunities. And having been bi all my life, I would not want to try operating from an all-straight or all-gay perspective at this point.

If I wanted a man, I would go get one, not act out of self-hate.

No. I've lived the straight lifestyel - it was misreable. Total acceptance of myself - made my life more fun and exciting. However, I do not flaunt my sexuality as MANY people are still in the dark ages. Who made the rules?

Live and let live. Love the one you're with and do what makes you happy.

Gay all my life, came out in the 70's, would not change who I am. Gay is not a disease and although I understand your question, it does imply that being Gay is somehow wrong. Please don't let your family, friends or people general make you feel that it is. There's enough people in world who want us gone, don't fall into the trap of believing they're right.

I am gay, and no, I would not take the pill.

I don't believe in "God" as defined by the bible, but I do believe that there is a greater force to the universe, one that decided that I should be gay for whatever reason, and that it's not my place to change that decision.

That is one of the most retarded questions I have ever heard. You would get the same response if you asked straight people if they would take a pill to make them gay. No.
