You should first get a yahoo account (its free) then download yahoo messenger then in order to login in you have to set up your messenger id (which will be part of your yahoo email addresss) and a password of your choice

Yes you can download yahoo messenger without having account there...
u dont need to fill a form to download it ...
just click...to download...
but u will not be able to use it without an account
Yahoo Messenger is an application that is devided into 2 pieces...one of them resides on the Yahoo Server...and the other we all can download...it is useless without the other part on the server...so we need to use the other part on the Server which need an account to access it...
