Apologies in advance for the vague description that's about to follow; I heard a song on Christian O'Connell's breakfast show on Virgin Radio this morning and I really liked it, however I could barely make out even a few of the words.

Christian didn't say who it was sung by, or what the title was. It was sung by a woman with a fairly high-pitched voice, and the chorus included heavy use of the words "fire" and "burning down." and it was played at around 7.45am (GMT) today. Does anyone know what song this is please?

I forgot to include that it's a mid-tempo song, not very upbeat and not exactly a slow song either.

HeatherMcFeather - thanks so much for your answer, I never knew about that song search feature. The closest song I can find to the time I heard this one is Wonderwall by Oasis, the sad thing is that my song was played immediately before the Oasis song...!! And to the person who said "Zafire" - that sounds pretty accurate compared to what I heard, but I've had a quick look on Google for that title and I've come up with some very dubious results.. have you got any more information please?

was it sophia by nerana palot, i think thats how you spell it

5 o' clock and a fire escape symphony,
Spilling out across the road and the square,
And the sky's the same as your own, do you think of me?
Do the parks, and trees, and the leaves, reach you, there?
After the rain, in the lonely hours he haunts me, calling out,
Again and again.

Sophia, Sophia, I'm burning, I'm burning.
It's a fire, it's a fire, I cannot put out,
Sophia, Sophia, I'm learning that some things,
I can't go without and one of those is him.

And now I walk these streets like a stranger in my home town,
Learn the language, form the words when I speak,
But he changed me, I'm his ghost since he came around,
And now I count the hours and the days in the weeks.

Passion and silence,
Every word, every time, a measure,
It's the science of the soul,
And his books, they breathe a reason and now I want to know...

Sophia, Sophia, I'm burning, I'm burning,
It's a fire, it's a fire, I cannot put out,
Sophia, Sophia, I'm learning that some things,
I can't go without and one of those is him.

You, with your new born eyes,
Have you ever loved a man like I love him?
Do you hurt but still feel alive, like never before?
Oh, Sophia, Sophia.

Sophia, Sophia, I'm burning, I'm burning,
It's a fire, it's a fire, I cannot put out,
Sophia, Sophia, I'm learning that some things,
I can't go without and one of those is him.

i haven't heard a current song with lyrics like that. but the only one i can think of is the cardigans and tom jones and the cover of burning down the house done in the late 90s. this was originally by an 80s american band called talking heads. this is just a guess. i hope though this is the song you were referring to

Why don't you email Virgin radio and ask? Do it quickly though as they are more likely to have a record of what was played this morning as near to the time as possible. I'm sure they would tell you as they'll have made a recording anyway.
