I'd like to buy my brother tickets, but I know nothing about which track (has to be in mid-west, 'cause I'm not buying him plane tickets too) or which races (nextel/busch). Any info. will help!

Well, depending on your location you have a few options. First, it depends on how far he is willing to drive. The best thing to do is pull up Nascar.com (http://www.nascar.com/races/tracks/) and look at which tracks are closest to him. Might require a little Yahoo driving direction time, but it's worth it.
I'm located in MO, but am willing to drive the 10 or so hours to Bristol/Dega and such. Indy is only about 6 hours away from me. So the first thing you are going to want to do is map the distance from his place to the track so you know it will be drivable for him, esp depending on his work schedule, b/c if he has to be back by Monday morning.

Second, you'll want to start looking now...b/c some of next year's events will be on sale soon and will sell fast.

In most cases the Busch/Cup series runs at the same track. Very few races out of the year are that far apart. Trust me.. get him Cup tickets. The Busch races are great, but it just doesn't beat a Cup race. However, in most cases you have the option to do both. I would recommend that. If I plan on being in town on Saturday I try to make the Busch race too. It's quite a bit of fun. Heck, you can normally buy those the day of the even too..so it's even an option to let him pay that part of the trip.

Also, get some advice as to which races are better when you narrow down tracks. Some races can be pretty dull live b/c of the track set up.
Look at seating charts and find the best seats. Don't settle. Good seats are priceless at a race, esp at some bigger tracks..b/c of what you miss if you are sitting right up front.

Also, buy the passes for quals and practices. He'll appreciate it..it's a great timne there too.

One more thing if the track you are sending him too has parking passes to pre-purchase..DO IT. The one biggest nightmare at races when you drive is parking and traffic. Of course there will always be places where he can pay that day, park, and walk to the race...but if you love him buy him parking so that he is near the track..

Good luck!

which race in the Midwest?? Michigan, Indianapolis, Chicago? Kansas City?? well all i can tell you at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet..you have to buy what the call the Track Pass which will give you tickets to 4 races and the cheapest ones are just under $200 around $185 each you get the Busch/Nextel race for that Sat/Sun and then you get tickets for the Arca race/Indy in September...which i went o because someone i know couldn't go to that one and it was awesome. but i am getting me the TrackPAss next year and the tickets for that race usually go on sale the day after the Daytona 500 .if those tickets acan not be used you could always sell them to some one who wants them.as long it is not sold on the track property

Buy *early*, especially for Nextel. (This is like NASCAR's major leagues.) By early, I mean by six months or more.

Busch (minor league) tickets are somewhat easier to get; those races usually take place in the same venue the day before the Nextel race, and many Nextel drivers race in those, too, for extra money or practice.

Here's a schedule for 2007--GOOD LUCK!!!!

If you go to nascar.com or possibly even jayski.com they should list all the tracks as well as ticketing information. I went to MIS (Michigan) for several years as a season ticket holder. Expensive for sure (especially when people didn't pay me for their ticket until day of) but well worth it. Some tracks sell out faster than others - for MIS I used to buy them as soon as they went on sale - and since I was a previous ticket holder, I got first dibs before the newbies had a shot. I've been to Daytona for the July race and was able to get really good seats directly from their website about two months prior. Word of advice when purchasing seats - the higher the better (and the more expensive).

Indy would be good for Nextel but it is only a single race weekend, no trucks or busch cars. We had tix for the August Nextel race and it was great.

Depending on what track you are looking for you should be able to find tickets. Kansas is this weekend and there are still tickets available online on various different sites. Make sure you don't get seats in the front row because you won't be able to see the whole track and you might miss something good!! Finally, if you're getting your brother tickets, I suggest you go with him because it is sooooo fun!! Good luck in your search!

first off they are hard to get, and usually all sold out so good luck(nextel, not busch). next you want to get them up high so he can see the whole track, once you get there you will want to rent some headset/scanners, so that you can listen to the drivers. and have fun, its awesome
