My ex-acquaintance who always like the married men once told me it was a "mental thing. if the man was taken then there was something good about him. it turns me on to think he picked me over his wife for a bonk". She obviously lacked self esteem and by taking someone else's man that void is filled until her next case of self doubt. As soon as I noticed this pattern, my husband and I disassociated ourselves from her.
She's a sick woman who is still lonely in her 40's now and none of the men ever stuck by her. She has a horrible reputation (10 years on) and nobody wants to talk to her at weddings.

Honestly I think this question would more properly be asked of the Women that do the messing as they are more in a position to explain their reasons.
That said to take a shot at the answer I would say that it is a combination, the "taking" of a man from another woman gives them a feeling of superiority, the sneaking involved is also a likely factor increasing the adventure of it due to the danger of being caught, and at some level I think they feel safe (a conflict I know) because he cant get too much "out of line" or he will be caught, placing him under some measure of control.

a friend of mine told me that it the thrill of the hunt. trying to get a man that has already been married. some lady see that some men are sweet to there current wife and would like to be the current wife so the steal them . men love being sex up and if it happen over a period of time so he will leave or keep a girl on the side..

A married man is a symbol of the type of man they want, and we always want what we can't have. I once had a friend who asked me if she should date a married man she was greatly attracted to?
