If they're so upset with the Congress and the Government, why don't they demand the right to popular initiative and to vetoing new laws through public vote?

What? Actually get involved with government? Make a stand instead of make a stink?

I think that it would be one giant mess to try to hold an election every time that somebody disagreed with congress is the biggest reason. We have the right to vote out those that we disagree with. This has happened in Connecticut this year with the democrats and in Michigan with the repuglicans. We have a good system and I do not think that direct voting on a national level would be a very good idea, because of the logistics of it.

We have the best governmental philosophy on earth. The commislamic radicals are not upset with the Congress and Government, they are just upset with the Bush administration. Seems old GW had the gonads to draw a line in the sand and set a direction to fight these thugs instead of turning the other cheek every time another atrocity was committed against us.

I'm not sure the majority of Americans don't want direct democracy. I personally do not think it would be a good idea, based on history. People are too emotional to govern on their own and you need something to impede knee jerk reactions from the masses.Too many minority beliefs would be squelched by majority rule.

I have been trying to rally people for years but it never works. the Unions hardly stand up any more. every thing is corrupt. People are afraid of what might happen to them if they make a stand, if they use their voice. i don't even think people write their congressman any more. people here are afraid of the government. it does (our government), have a way of snuffing out things it finds to be a threat.
