I have had many non materialistic surprises which ultimately take the cake over gifts. However, my most recent surprise was a pair of diamond earrings. He handed me a bag after work one day. In the gift bag was a teddy bear. I was just thrilled that he had been thinking of me enough to go get me something out of the blue. I kissed him and said thank you. He said, that's not the gift. There's more. I looked through the tissue paper and there was a box. We're married almost 2 years, so I quickly ruled out any rings. I had been wanting diamond earrings forever, but he didn't want me to expect them on an anniversary or birthday. So he just got them one day. Sweet huh?
