if you really like the girl then why wait for her to ask you out or why wait for the situation another boy asks her out? you have to make your move as soon as you can. who knows, she might be just waiting for you to ask her...

To girls, like myself, dances are just ways to have fun. It doesn't mean anything in a romantic way, unless it's slow dancing. Ask her in a ' i'm-a-friend ' tone.
I'm sure she will feel a little awkward, but most girls won't say 'no', as to not hurt the other person.

Be a young man and walk up to her and ask her. Let her know it would be an honor for you to have the dance. You don't have to use those words, but let her know that she is special.
