it means they still have feeling for ex. if you are in this triangle then leave cause nothing will ever come of it untill this person is willing to call it quits with the ex and be done with it. You know enough is enough. Hope this helps good luck.

Personally i tend to shut'n seal the doors i close behind me so that i don't have to step back and keep any sort of tie with my exs. I consider it as a form of respect towards my new partner, a way to definitely cut off my exs from my brand new starts and a way to have a clear, honest, clean start with someone else whom deserves my attention and max transparence.
Consider i am not jealous at all but i would consider my GF keeping in touch with her exs as an insult to my relationship but perhaps that depends from the fact that i am Italian, or perhaps from the fact that my living abroad for many years showed that sooner or later friendship with exs end up by leading to something more in 90% of the cases.

In short, to me it means he wants to keep his feet in two shoes. It could mean he's confused or it could mean he took you because he couldn't have her anymore and then you'd be second choice.

Is your partner only flirty with the ex or just flirty in general? Maybe it's an insecurity thing, just teasing the ex. Clearly you are upset by this and it makes you insecure or you would not ask so maybe you need to look at your own relationship

It will never work, trust me I have been there and done that and nothing has ever caused me as much heart ache as my boyf at the time being in touch with his ex. She used to rub my face in it and i used to go mad about them being in touch with each other so in the end they would keep it a secret then i would find out and it would be ten times worse. He did he because he felt guilty about the way he had treated her in the past but he should have put his current girlfriend (me) feelings before those of his ex. I got rid of him after putting up with it for 2 years, it broke me completely but then one day i had enough and got rid of him, it was the best thing I have ever done. Now i have a new man who like me believes you cannot be friends with your ex- unless you have children or something with someone why stay in touch? the new girlfriend / boyfriend will never like it, so you might as well have just stayed with your ex cos no one else id gonna put up with you if you refuse to give up your ex!

It means, you are being used as "filler" for the times he has no commitment to anyone (including you). He's trying to get back with the ex, or looking around for someone "better". He's using you honey...kick this turd to the curb! godloveya.

My view is that they are stroking their own ego by staying in touch. They feel popular. They feel wanted. Also, if they finished it, the old 'we can still be friends' eases their conscience and makes them feel less guilty

not wanting to break contact twith the ex means darlin that he/she still wants to be around them. they might not want to be with them but still aint got over them yet, or he/she is just takin the piss outta both of you to feed his/her ego. dont stroke it. move on, tell him/her they aint worth you. trust me. it might hurt, but it would hurt WAY MORE in the long run. alie?? **)gudluck.
