I have been treated for a bladder infection twice in the last moth and a half.
I was given anti-biotics and told to drink citra soda.
My groin area still burns when I wee and even when I dont wee.
I also have a stabbing pain in my lower abdomen, in the area of my ovaries yet just on the left side.
It cant be my appendix as that was removed last year.
I also have polycystic ovary syndrome.
I cant afford to the gynie, and I live in South Africa and we dont have decent medical systems like the NHS. Can any one help?

Whenever you take those meds. ALWAYS eat yogurt each time you take one of the pills. It counteracts the side effects. You have a worse infection so you need to go to the doctor or hospital again. Everytime I take that medication for that problem I have to eat alot of yogurt to avoid that pain. It only takes a couple of days for the pain to go away normally. You have to take the meds. until the prescription is gone or the infection will come back. There are natural enzymes in yogurt. BUT GET BACK TO THE DOCTOR NOW.

If you assume it is the PCOS (polycystic ovary), see if you can get red raspberry in either tea or capsule form. Start the treatment the week before you ovulate and go for 2 weeks. It should help the cyst stay soft.

You may still have the bladder infection. If you can get goldenseal root and/or cranberry capsules that will help clean you out. Drink 2 liters of water a day. If you can get AZO (or a generic) it will hopefully stop the pain and burning - but follow the directions.

Oh gosh, girl. If at all possible, get to a doctor or clinic.
You may need a much stonger antibiotic to clear up a residual bladder infection, or it may be something else entirely---an STD, or cystitis (worse type of bladder infection, chronic), or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, or endometriosis.
This isn't something to fool with. See a doctor or a nurse or some kind of health worker if you can.

It's possible that the antibiotics that you were on were not effective. You might need to try another set of antibiotics. Do drink as much water as you can and pee every time you feel the need to. Other than that, I can't really help you.
