It can but not as good as a condom. You have a better chance of not getting pregnant with a condom instead of the pill. It is not 100% effective, too. The condom is not either, but it is better.

Yes, birth control pills are very effective at preventing pregnancy. Like other forms of birth control, pills are not 100-percent effective. I work with a guy whose girlfriend got pregnant on the pill, so it does happen.

If used properly yes it is 99.9% effective in preventing pregnancy. But the key words are used properly. You must remember to take it every day. And track you cycle. They have a new birth control ring out. That has been proven to be better for women who are forgetful about taking the pill. You can check with your doctor about it. It last 30 days, and has the same side effects and benefits of the pill.
But as with any birth control it is best to talk to your doctor about what is right for you.

Well assuming you are speaking about the birth control pill, yes it prevents pregnancy for MOST women. There is a small percentage of women for whom it doesn't work.

And, of course, the pill has to be taken faithfully every day. Each time you miss a dose, your chances of pregnancy go up (but don't try to double up on doses...that's dangerous).

Oh, well, yeah, whatever. . .

But if you want to be 100% sure, then, in addition to the pill, make sure he wears a condom and in addition to the condom, make sure he abstains.

It has never failed.
