I don't think it's easy for a tongue ring to get infected, just always make sure you brush your teeth like normal, without brushing your tongue OUCH, and use listerine. That's all I did. It didn't get infected, needless to say I don't have it anymore. If you recently got it done tho, it will probably be sore and swollen for a minimum of 2-3 weeks, but no longer than 2 months. Good luck!

A few years ago, I read a magazine article written by a guy who went and got everything pierced that people can pierce. He said his tongue piercing hurt a LOT (only one 'hurt level' less than his nipple), but that he had no infection problems afterward. The MOST likely site of infection is the belly button---covered by clothes, warm, dark, all kinds of nasty bacteria.
If a tongue piercing does get infected, a great remedy is to rinse the mouth with warm salty water several times a day, and as with all infection, avoid sugary foods until the infection is gone.

The mouth is stuffed with plenty micro organism, so which you're immediately companies to having some minor an infection regardless, purely make certain you sparkling your mouth each and every time you consume and drink to evade it from getting extreme and so it could heal swifter. i've got not had my tongue pierced, yet I easily have snakebites. The white stuff is favourite; that is not solid, yet nonetheless, that is not extreme the two. as quickly as the swelling is going down, there should not be a dent there anymore, like genuinely everyone else mentioned, purely get an prolonged one till finally the swellings long gone, that is in all risk too short.
