I have that too here in the desert. The best thing I found is Bermuda. But check with your local nursery that sells plants to find out what the best is in your area. The Bermuda grows in shade and sun but it does better in the sunny places.

It depends on what area of the country you live in. Go to your local hardware, or home and garden store. They should be able to tell you what the best grass seed to use for your lawn.
