Hopefully, you did not fall victim to that. FORWARD that email to spoof@paypal.com. If you did not already.... call your bank, call your credit card company, log into Paypal and... contact Social Security about getting a special PIN number for your SS Account. You see, with all of this, they can learn about accouts that you did not mention by getting a credit report on you.

It takes thieves a few minutes to transfer your money out of your accounts into their off-shore accounts. ACT FAST.

If you supplied them with your credit card # and your social security #, you could be in big trouble. PayPal would never ask you for that. Contact your credit card company immediately to have a new card issued and warn them that someone has obtained your card #. To have given someone your social security number has opened you up to identity theft. I don't know what to do about that, except to contact your local Social Security Office. This is a very serious situation. You have to act immediately. I hope everything works out OK for you.

cancel that credit card NOW.

Get a credit report now also. Ask all 3 major credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) if they can not issue any credit reports in your name without your written authorization. I don't know if the last one is possible, but it's worth asking.
