HRM in this context probably stands for Human Resource Management. It's one of the buzzspeak words that came out of the 80's and 90's in the US, as far as I know.

The definition would be that this is the office and staff that tracks applicants, open positions, hirings, firings, annual reviews, raises, benefits such as insurance, retirement, etc, and helps employees use these benefits.

Human Resources Management teams do much more than just managing personnel; they're in charge of various logistics within a business. They're in charge of how many staff are needed in certain departments, devising work schedules & hours - all the people-based things that keep an office/business running. They effectively manage the level of expenditure within a business to make sure it's all used in the most efficient way, to result in the best possible outcome.

Well, that's what I was told during my Business Studies A-Level, anyway! '_'

Read the whole of the Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, a trilogy in five parts. Human Resources practitioners and Peronnel management afficionado's are both 'B' Ark candidates.

Human Resource Management.

It annoys me too when people use abbreviations and just take it for granted people know what they mean.
