The best way I think to not hurt your friend's feelings is cite an example or story that tells about a different person but what your really telling your friend is your friend's story. For example, tell him, "you know i have a friend in high school who have really bad breath as in a case of halitosis and gosh i can't stand talking or being near him any minute. People are already talking about his bad breath.. blah blah blah (I bet you're not the only one whom he is torturing with his deadly breath). lols I'm sure he will empathize or feel "wait a minute, that exactly happend to me" syndrome. So i think he will realize he's been torturing people all his life.

maybe you should clarify.... does it LOOK like a dog's bottom?? then, yeah, i would've gotten offended too.does it SMELL like a dog's bottom? maybe he just needs a good mouthwash. or are you saying he talks like a sailor... then yeah, i agree you should tell him... i don't like anyone cussing around me, it shows a complete lack of respect and if he truly cares about you, he will abide by your wishes.

Tell him, you would want to know if it was you, and you would have appreciated the advice. You have to make it understand you were not having a go - you were telling him for his own good. I bet he would rather hear it from you than a girl he is trying to pull maybe.
