lots of hot showers worked for ome.
best tip for after - human milk raises the iq, promotes bonding, prevents diabetes and cancers. day care causes irreperable damage to the psyche and intellect and social development as does allowing a baby to 'cry it out.'' hold your baby whenever she asks and she will know that YOU and the world are good.
best wishes!

1. Get your obgyn to prescribe therapeutic massage or physical therapy with a pregnancy specialist or BOTH. Relax, and get help. It is available....although it is very late in the pregnancy...the massage might be all that is available....just make sure it is medically prescribed by your obgyn. A "regular" massage can do much more harm than good.
2. Have you worked at a job that has at least 50 employees and you have worked a total of 1250 hours this year? If so, your employer can't fire you for missing up to 12 weeks of work for pregnancy or childbirth. Check out Family leave act on the net, or FMLA.
3. Tylenol...it's all you can take.
4. Get a maternity "harness"......a band that goes under the belly, and around your hips, then another strap that actually holds the band up. It takes the weight burden off your back a little.

Me too! 13 days to go! YAY! That is the best solution: child birth! ;-D He! He! (joke) Sorry you are not as well acquainted and impressed with acetominophen as I am. I only take it maybe once a week when I am truly achy. For backpain, what helps is understanding why it hurts so much and then going from there. Sitting down compresses your spine. Standing up extends it. Try to get in both hourly. Don't sit for longer that 40 minutes without standing for a couple. Laying on your sides compresses your rib, chest, back and hip muscles. Laying on your back relieves that. Try laying on your back for a while especially if you have been sleeping on your side or sides for hours at a time. The back laying may hurt at first, but your back pain will be relieved. Are you putting your feet up? (Feet above heart level) Are you drinking tons of water and running to the toilet a million times a day!? I know I am. Hope you feel better. Congratulations and Godspeed for a healthy delivery and beautiful baby!
(acetominophen is dissolved and metabolized before it enters the baby's bloodstream ~ very very safe!~)

I had exactly the same problem! I suffered from back pain from around 16 weeks and it continued right until the end. My husband used to rub Arnica oil on my back every night. It gave me some relief but not much. Just keep thinking forward!!!! It definitely is all worth it in the end!
P.S. If you can try an avoid an epidural, it makes the back pain even worse after baby is born. I am suffering now 6 months later with bad back pain because of the epidural!

I had major back pains the last month of my pregnancy too, and I was 9 days late! I got heat pads and put them on my back. Not too hot, but warm enough to feel good. My Hubby rubbed my back a lot. I also had trouble sleeping at night because of my back. Try using a body pillow. Lay on your left side and put your belly on the pillow and wrap your legs around it. It will help aline your spine. Just take things slowly!! I didnt work the last month because of swelling and back pains. Drink a lot of water and dont stress! Congrads, your almost there!! :)

It is possible you are going to have a back labor, the worse, this is where the baby is lined wrong and in position, I know exactly what you are feeling.
Try a heating pad on a low setting.
Does it hurt worse when you are in a sitting position. If so I'dd put money on it.

For you pain warm showers are nice, or have dad to be massage your back for you. There are going to be pains that you will have to just live with, sounds a little harsh, but hun once that baby is out it will be all worth it I promise...Been there done that 2 times. My oldest I worked till 4 days before I had him. Good Luck & Congrats!!!!

A heating pad was my bestfriend... I even took it to work and had it set up with a pillow underneath at my desk. We also used tiger balm rub on my lower back at night. Be sure you are wearing comfortable shoes.

it is possible that you could have back labor...i had that with 2 of mine. If it is not labor pains, try a very warm or hot shower or a heating pad (low setting). Good luck to you and congrats!
