Vanishing without a Trace does NOT mean that the people who knew the person will suddenly loose all memory of the person. It just means that the person does not leave any clues to their present whereabouts.

Your question my friend is therefore fundamentally flawed ;-)

"MIssing temporarily". If after all consertive effort to search and locate produce no result, there is a certain time limitation that the subject can be declared as dead or missing. Regulation varies from State to State.

Good question. Would memories of that person be considered a trace?

because they wouldn't be there any more!

then you would notice them missing.

then you would need to find out where they were.

then maybe, just maybe, you wouldn't know and there would be NO clues!

Vanished without a trace.
