GNR are now tragically a shambolic covers band, Axl is accompanied by bit part extra's with over inflated opinions of themselves and why the crowd were there to see them (morbid curiosity on my part, probably the same for most of the others)
New songs sound like they could have come straight off 'Use Your Illusion', there appears to be no progression at all. Axl looks like he has had several visits to the plastic surgeon and is stretched to the max and is still as stroppy as ever, walking off three times because of mike problems with no explanation for the crowd.
On the plus side when I saw them they did start on time and they did a song with Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row singer) who proved that he can still rock your socks off. Great hair too.

I saw 4 of their shows - Hammersmith, RDS Arena, Download and Wembley (the last show). I miss the "old" boys and would kill to see them back together, but I was far more impressed with the crowd he has going now than I was when Buckethead was around (I know it hasn't changed all that much). I have nothing against Buckethead and I'm sure he's a fantastic guitarist, but they just didn't sound as good in 2002 as they did this time round.
Of the shows I went to my favourite was RDS Arena (this could have something to do with being front row!!). The worst was Wembley - because Axl "passed out" back stage (I'm thinking he through a bit of a hissy fit at the sound guys!) and I'm not entirely sure what the little people had to do with anything! But Baz was awesome even though he was terrified (I was side stage so got to see all the f-ing and blinding in pure terror!) of what would happen with him singing Paradise City. The crowd - although they didn't entirely appreciate him singing it - still went crazy!
They were on time for 2 of these shows. Hammersmith was the first show and although we waited 2 or 3 hours it was worth the wait! They rocked us silly!! And Wembley the whole thing ran late so not sure who to blame for that!
Axl, despite what people may say, looks great! Yeah he's had a few things done but up close (and I was!!!) he is still devilishly handsome. Although he could lose the braids!
So in summary they rocked! Axl sounded great! I like the new band and I applaud them for getting on stage and performing the old songs when they know how much GNR fans miss Slash and the boys. I love the new songs - even though they sound similar to Use Your Illusions - and I can't wait for the album (*crosses every body part in the hope that it does actually make the shops this year*). If I were a rich chick I would be at all their shows!

I saw them at Download and they were pants. So pants in fact that the group I was with all left after the guitar went into the croud and a lot of hissy fits ensued!!! certainly knocked them off the pedastal I once had them on. I know its not the same without slash but they really were pants and I am glad I missed the riot afterwards!!!

Saw them in the SECC in Glasgow - brilliant!!! Axl's voice is back to it's best. Check out the performances on Youtube especially Knockin on Heavens Door at Hammersmith - the hairs on the back of your neck will stand up.

I saw them at Newcastle Arena! He came on late, left early, sang like crap, and im one of his biggest fans. He looks more like Mick Hucknall than Axl Rose. It was a really disappointing show, one that I had been looking forward to for years.
