If its normal to feel like your heads a balloon, (I have ringing in the ears which is normal but it was way worse last night), and I cant breathe outta my nose without having to blow it first, or my throat without a wheeze and sometimes a cough that hurts like @#$$ I was curious what was done mainly for strep, besides antibiotics, and good tips and suggestions, it looks like it in the mirror, but one can never be sure, so I described how I am feeling too. All I know is I want a decent nights sleep, without my rib areas hurting. thanx.

In my UNexpert opinion, I would say upper respiratory infection at least, accompanied by a whopper of a sinus infection.

Feel free to share my diagnoses with your physician....smiling. Follow the doctor's suggestions, but also add nasally inhaling some natural saline, found anywhere, sipping warm chicken broth, and plenty of water, vitamin C, and rest. DON'T overdo it, even when you start to feel better.

Good luck, dear one.

I get Strep A LOT!! They prescribe me the Z-Pak usually (Zithromax) and a hydrocodone cough syrup so I can sleep, swallow, etc...until the antibiotic kicks in, they also give me a prescription for 800mg Ibuprofen, but you can just take 4 advil, every 8 hours.

As a physician, it would sound like you might have an allergy or an upper respiratory infection. I would guess it is not streptococcus but there are both allergens and bacteria that can cause very similar symptoms. To relieve the post-nasal drip you might try steam inhalation coupled with a mild anti-histamine...cold tablet (don't buy the 12 hour type).

Well since your seeing your doc he/she is the best person to ask for advice. A decongestant along with an antibiodic is probably what is suggested, although if you have no fever or strept then an antibiodic is pretty much worthless, a virus has to run its course and most colds/flu are just that, anyhow just let the doc know exactly how you feel.

I wouldn't think it is strep, but definitely a sinus infection, what concerns me is the pain in your ribs, this could indicate pneumonia, make sure he listens to your chest.
