Its gone down the pan! Mine has, anyway.
Seriously, studies in the US in the early 1990's showed that staff productivity decreased sharply once businesses got e-mail. To a lesser extent, productivity also decreased as businesses upgraded their computer systems, because of the associated learning curve.
Anyway, China has more workers, being more productive, than the rest of the world put together! So you might as well relax and play computer games. I recommend 'Spongebob Squarepants Collapse'.

According the THE BOOK OF DIANA, staff performance is directly linked to the way management views and treatments their employees. If the people at the top do not treat the people below them with respect and appreciation, said people do not feel any loyalty to the people above them or to the company.
Even the hardest working, most loyal employee gets beaten down after a while when their efforts are not recognized;when they see others doing less; getting away with putting forth little effort; and then being rewarded when they aren't. It is a common occurrence today.
When the people at the top set out a mission statement, stick to it, and work as part of the "team" with their employees, morale goes up, productivity goes up and staff performance goes up.
There is a new book out called, THE POWER OF NICE". It doesn't say that one has to be namby pamby to employees and clients, but rather, by being "nice" to all, people tend to work harder for you, support you and hire you more. If this is practiced by the people on the top, there is a trickle down effect and as staff morale goes up, so do company profits.

LOL good question. Mine has gone down since I started this. But it is still more than most colleagues at same level because they all smoke. their tea breaks are half hour because they have a smoke after. I think people should get rewarded for working hard, because when they don't they get disheartened.

Where I work, there's only a Tesco's to go to for lunch so I do this instead for half an hour or so. So my productivity is actually a little better.
