Indirectly, I believe so. The oil revenues supported despots and governments which oppressed the people in the region. The U.S. supported these governments in order to stabilize the oil supply. Effectively, this disenfranchised the people in the region.

I don't think that this is true. In fact, it is ridiculous. How did the US oppress these people. There have been governments that the US has supported, for stability reasons (which leads to a better flow of oil) that have been oppressive. Even Iraq was once supported by the US. I would say that we support Saudi Arabia today, and I think they are oppressive. However, American Foreign policy is a lot more complicated than just oppression to get more oil. We do the best with the limited knowledge we have at the time. There are many that go around pointing fingers, but few that have better solutions that would have benefited more people.

No. The Arabs have been oppressing the US. They have been making the US and other countries pay good money to take something they had no use for so they could buy things they want.
What makes you think the US is oppressing Arabs?

Yes i do agree. Most people don't know what has been going on in the middle east for decades.
If they knew they might understand why we have some of our international problems and what it's like ot be on the other side of the fence.
