A PhD program normally takes 4 to 5 years of full time study after the BA or BS, but it might take as much as 8 or 9 years.
You have to take 60 credits of classes (that is at least 20 courses, each course i/2 a year, probably 3 or 4 courses at a time) and then spend at least a year, probably 2-3 years researching and writing your dissertation. Sometimes some ofthe dissertation time does not need to be done in residence at the university,
So, the answer is, if you want to get a real Doctorate, and not a phony degree as someone else mentioned, you need to put in the time.

To tell you the truth, I don't think so...If you are serious about doctorate, it really requires times and a lot of intellectual efforts. I remember my cousin being so nervous about his final thesis. He couldn't do it by the deadline and even had to ask for help on-line service http://www.dissertationsexperts.com and they assisted him with the last chapter. And he spent several years to write his dissertation, in fact. Anyway, good luck to you!
