Most methods would include rebooting or knowing your password. Such as seeing you type it to unlock your desktop, a mini camera pointed at your keyboard, etc. It's also possible he's using the admin password having cracked your system thus gaining admin privlages. You can override the screen saver as admin on most verisions of windoze but unless he then locked it again and retyped your user name it would leave evidence of the tampering.

Some things you can do to prevent this is password lock the bios. Be SURE you memorize the password and also keep a written copy somewhere that he will not find. If you forget the password then you have to drain your CMOS battery to get back into the computer. After that you can set up a password boot with most bios's thus preventing the user from rebooting. With some windoze versions you can set your machine up to require a password to log in initially. Change your admin and personal user passwords. Do not write these down. Memorize them and make them difficult to guess. If you have to write them down put them in your wallet or something that is always with you and unlikely to be touched by your friend.

You can also install a tiny Linux partition and use Grub set up with a password to prevent unatuthorized rebooting. To get around that would require booting from CD or disk but that would also force them to reconfigure everything every time they booted. Effort they are unlikely to expend.

Presumably the machine can be rebooted. Is there also a password on your account? All of your files, including your desktop, are on your hard drive and can be accessed by anybody who knows what they are doing.

I ur password set under settings, control options and user accounts. That is the way mine is set up. I have two accounts and no one can get in mine. Not unless they know my password
