I'm a native of California. Born and raised and proud of it. I wouldn't trade in California for any place, it runs through my veins. I've traveled a lot, South America, Europe, other states within the good ole USA, and it's always nice to come home to California. And you won't find me running away because there are too many "foreigners", that just makes it more interesting: one big melting pot with people from all over the world. I was born a Californian and will always be one through thick and thin till death does us part.

There are two types of Californian. Those who were born there and those who live there.
It is an attitude thing.
You live on the extreme. Either so far right or so far left. There is no middle ground.

I forgot the other group that live there. The do nothings. They come and live off the tax payers hard work. They are bums. Welfare people. They suck the economy dry. California would be a great, rich state if these people would get off their butt and do something other than collect government assistance.

Well I was born in Redondo Beach CA 28 years ago. Lived there until I went to collage at UCLA. And then when we got married we moved to Palm Springs CA, were we have lived for the last 9 years. My husband was born and raised in CA, Went to collage here. And all our kids were born in CA. I have visited many other places, but I don't think I will ever leave CA.
So I guess that is what makes me a Californian.

The only thing that makes me Californian is the fact that I'm living here. I moved out here from Michigan 2 years ago. I agree with Trollhair...your either born here or moved here and it is an attitude thing. I love it out here, don't get me wrong but life certainly is different out here.

Being born here, like me!

When people around the world say California is the land of fruits and nuts, they fail to understand all the imports to California are the fruits and nuts.

Surviving the smog, crime, and the earthquakes. California has great coast lines and beautiful high country. The problem is that California is crowded and costs a fortune to buy a house there.

Living through Loma Prieta and Northridge, Caltrans backups, the smog, the insane referenda, the high house prices, paying taxes for the welfare system, the shallow movie business and all of the selfish Hummer/McMansion owners without complaining about it.
