Pat Robertson told viewers of his longtime show, "The 700 Club," on Monday that Chavez was turning his oil-rich South American country into "a launching pad for communist infiltration and Muslim extremism all over the continent."

"If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think we really ought to go ahead and do it," said Robertson

Now it looks like Pat Robertson's sage warning has come to pass:

Mr. Chavez has decided that America is his enemy, so he is building up his army. He has forged an alliance with Fidel Castro, the government of Iran, and many think he is going to make trouble for the United States.

The CIA has not assassinated Chavez yet because, contrary to what some retards think, the government is not in the business of assassinating world leaders. There are clear laws against it--at least one Presidential order banning it (I think Reagan issued it), and Congress may have weighed in as well. The question is, though, should he be assassinated; maybe, but the government should not become directly involved in something like that.

They tried in April of 2002. There's a great documentary on the attempted coup called (when I saw it at an independent little cinema) "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" but it's been renamed "Chavez: Inside the Coup". Not yet released, but look for it playing in small independent cinemas.

thank God the CIA can't do whatever they want. And please God, nobody would manage to assassinate Chavez, and Pat Robertson will burn in Hell long before Chavez dies a natural death.
