Wear either a punker hairdo or heavy metal hair. Use some black eyeliner because a lot of guys did that in the 80s. Go ripped jeans and leather jacket.
If you're going preppy, wear a skinny tie and an 80s suit, along with a "dork" hairdo.

a vest with almost anythings was a good look. so a pair of jeans a white shirt and a vest. Even if the vest is an old one from a suit that is OK. Even if it didn't match.

How much hairspray is in your house? Because the 80's is what depleted the ozone so much :) Big hair is a must, and after that, colors that dont really match at all or rock stuff.
