It's an inguinal hernia, which is less common than the usual kind, I hear. I was just wondering if any gents have had an op to fix an inguinal hernia and how soon they were back on their feet etc..

I had surgery for an inguinal hernia. They inserted a patch, much like you would use on a hole in a tire. You are able to walk the next day, but with discomfort. Ten days after, I was able to play golf with the help of vicodin, but you won't truly be back to normal until 3 weeks to a month.

im not a man but my dad has had 3 of those operations in different places. he was back on his feet the next day. good luck
