Say, you are facing this SCENARIO:

There are a few boys in your class who earlier in the day kept disturbing the girl you really like. They took her things and hid them, letting her go crazy, trying to keep a smile, to get them back.

You want to help her, but considering the effects, you hesitated. You think, if I help her, then would the rest of the class "gossip" about me and her and started bothering us? That would make her angry with me.

You didn't help her. And instead, you sit down there, frowning. Meanwhile, she tries to take the things back.

Do you think you have done the right thing and if not, what should you have done? Why?

Please give as thorough answers as possible and base your answers with possible reasons.

There goes your chance to impress her, mate. You truly think she would be mad at you for helping her? If she really did get mad at you for being a gentleman, would you really like a shallow girl who lacks perception?
Don't let what you think other people think or say of you to affect what you do, because those will be the moments you will truly regret in life. And I speak from experience.

Sure you're a coward, but no more so than anyone else. I'm sure there's others who thought the same thing and didn't do anything, even one of the people picking on her knew it was wrong.
I would not have thought I did the right thing, I believe that sometimes things are meant to happen a certain way. She might have had a lesson to learn from the experience, or you did, or the boys picking on her.

Gossip is a funny thing: If you ignore it, it goes away. The less you worry about what people say about you, the more respect you'll get.

Yes you're a coward. You should have helped her. You backed out just because your scared of what other people think. So what if they gossip. The important thing is that you did something good or right.

Think of it this way: If you sit back and let someone be picked on then you are just at as much fault as the people that are picking on her. Don't think that just because you don't want to be embarrassed that you are helping the situation. She will probably be more greatful to for doing something about them sitting there watching them pick on her. Go with your gut instinct no matter what happens.

Who cares about the gossip, I would help her. You should never just sit ildey by and watch someone get picked on . She might not know how to defend her self , you could possibly strike up a friendship.

I would have told the guys to give her stuff back. Period. End of story.

And why would she be angry if the class gossiped about you guys because you were helping her? That's their problem not yours. Unless of course she completely hates you and in that case, you should just not do anything (which is what you apparently did).

Yes, you were a coward. You should have taken up for her. Whether you like a girl or not, whether you think she's pretty or ugly, it is simply being a gentleman and being kind to take up for her.
Don't worry about what other people think of you (including me thinking you're a coward). Just do what you think/know is the right thing to do.

so what if they gossip about you and the girl. you were only trying to be nice and gossip is a thing I call what goes around, comes around. that bit of gossip will dissapear someday. but who cares what other people think. you were only trying to help anyway, it's the action or your thoughts that count.
