Im 5 weeks pregnant and occasionally get a mild twinge in my lower right abdomen. I don't feel its anything serious and have been told it could be round ligament pain. My question is for those who have had it: When do u start getting this and for how long in the pregnancy does it go on? I had it last week for a day or so and then nothing. It started again yesterday afternoon and tailed off. Ive only had one or two twinges this morning. I don't want to go rushing back to the docs again if there is no need so any sensible advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Its absolutely normal, mine started at 4-5 weeks also, I confirmed my pregnancy on 5th May last year and that same day it started, in fact towards 8 weeks it was so bad at times that I went for a second sonography just to be sure all was well. I had it till the second trimester, well into the 5th month, it will get a bit painful, just lie down and put your feet up, have some water and read to get your mind of it. I too lived off yahoo answers back then, didnt want my docs to think I am one of those pain in the butt patients. Feel free to come to yahoo answers whenever u are in doubt, no matter what people say - doctors advice is always the best but sometimes experience can help too. all the best.

Do not lift any thing heavy or do any heavy excise, get some books from the library about the changes the body goes through when you are pregnancy. It is always good to get a second docs opinion
good luck

Sorry to tell you, but it comes and goes throughout the entire pregnancy, also seems to get worse near the end- last 2 or 3 months. Just part of the joy!

Just take time to sit down and relax when that happens, you will feel better. It takes the body a few months to get used to your passenger.
