My homecoming is dress and very beautiful. My mom suggests that I wear stockings, but idk. she was thinking of maybe a brown sugar color to match my skin tone, but i need some help.

Are stockings the same as pantyhose? If yes I think that would be fine. It sounds like you are an african american young lady. If brown sugar is natural color for you I would say yes. I am white and I wear nude. If that is your version of nude I wold say yes. If stockings are knee highs I would say no. If this is somthing that does not match your skin tone I would say no.
What are the other girls at your school doing? Are they going with bare legs or wearing a leg covering? Ask them. If you hate them you can always take them off in the bathroom at the dance. I am glad you have a pretty dress.
I loved my dances because I got to dress like a princess. I asked the guys because I wanted to go and they did not ask me. I was really shy, but I asked them.

I wish I knew what color the dress is....if the dress is in a dark color...then I would say yes to the nylons...but nothing dark...something that is very light that is almost your skin color. Unless that dark is your skin color...then by all means use that one...if you do get the nylons...make sure they have the texture you would feel like you can breath through your legs....nothing sticky...if the dress is light...I wouldn't wear any...you don't want to contrast it too much ...you want to look natural, sensual, and like your dress says....beautiful. If you don't like nylons....let your mom know you just don't like them...and you want to be comfortable at the dance...this would be no way to enjoy the dance if it was something you had to do that you really don't want to wear. You know?? Also I notice one of the inputers added that dance floors can get hot....yes that can do...so you don't want to sweat...you want to be comfortable I hope you have a nice homecoming occasion.

I am 16 and I always wear stockings. I have to wear hose to work, and I dislike pantyhose so I wear stockings' and they are sooo hot looking and comfortable too. They look really great and the guys love them too.
I agree that pantyhose are for ok older ladies, and we all call them grannyhose, but stockings are very in, and you should wear them with heels and your beautiful dress. Girls with bare legs, heels and nice dresses look like street walkers.

I know from experience that stockings get hot!! I ended up taking mine off at most dances because they were too bothersome. They do finish your look off nicely, but they're more "office appropriate" than "high school dance appropriate" anymore! I would opt not to wear them if I were you and enjoy your night!

no stockings are soooo old fashion bare legs is alot more youthful stockings are meant for maybe a 40 to 80 year olds

If it's long, I wouldn't bother- who's gonna know? If the dress is short, then you should consider it. I never like going w/out, but only because I hate it when my feet are sweaty & stick to the bottom of my shoes!

tights are the hit for fall,opaque tights,stockings however may be a bit more dressy for this occasion,get several types and try them on check out what you your mother and a Friends thinks looks best.

I would only wear stockings if i was wearing a retro dress...otherwise they're too grandma-ish

Nude colored pantyhose - tones the legs and gives them a little glimmer.
I would wear em!
