He was a fun guy and I liked watching his programme every now and then, but many times I thought to myself: "Oh man, now he's really asking for it!"

He was taking great risks, it was inevitable that he would get unlucky sooner or later. Of course that doesn't make his death any less tragic for his fans, friends and family.

What really makes me sad though is when I heard that around Australia they found several dead stingrays with their tales cut off. Looks like some people were trying to "avenge" Steve's death, which is exactly the opposite of what he would have wanted. The people failed to realise that by killing the stingrays they were committing a crime against Steve's memory and spirit.

I thought the memorial service for Steve Irwin was very appropriately done. Steve was loved by many people around the world and will be missed. Bindi showed such presence and her tribute was all any daddy could have asked for. When his truck was driven away for the last time, it brought the world to its knees. His love of wildlife and his work for preserving the environment will be his legacy for generations to come. It was good for people to come together to celebrate a life well lived and to mourn a man taken too soon.

Even though I wasn't a huge fan of Steve Irwin I thought his memorial service was just right. Not over the top but actually was a celebration of his life.I have to admire him for what he has done for conservation and think the world has lost an incredible person.

I thought they done a wonderful job with the memorial service. It was so nice of the Irwin family to let the public be apart of it. Bindi reminded me so much of my neice when my brother ( her father) passed away last year standing up so strong and talking about how great her father was it was so touching.
Steve was a great man and in many ways reminded me of my brother with his heart of gold as its said "god" only takes the best.
Steve will be remembered and missed by many even the ones who never got a chance to meet him personly we almost felt like we did for the way he presented himself with no curtains. The knowledge he brought with him and left behind of the animals he loved will never be forgotten his mission was accomplished.
Although he is now gone the memory of him will still live on.

Yeah, it was very sad, it made me cry too. I feel so sad for Bindi. She's only eight years old and death is such a tough concept to grasp at that age. I wish her the best. And Terri is distraught, I saw her on television yesterday, she's doing an interview for the first time since her husband's death, it's so sad. He must have been such a great husband and father, he loved his family more than life itself.

I tell ya what, Steve was a hero and his little girl, Bindi, she is a champion too. I was in a waiting room and the reception staff and 10 other patients were all in tears. The doctor even came out and said I will wait to it's over before I see the next patient, everyone was glad.

The crocotorium was overflowing, as was every TV viewer in all the nation....Your Barbara Walters will be airing a one hour interview with Terri and Bindi on NBC Wednesday this week...(That is special in itself dont you think?..A 74 year old flying half way accross the world to us, just so she can present a one hour interview to her fellow countrymen)?......I really dont think anyone can express Steves worth to this world any better than that....Thankyou so much for caring..
