my answer is: THE HEN because a hen can lay eggs without a rooster. An egg can't be egg without a host/mother.
Just like Adam and Eve.
God created them instantly as adults, same goes to a hen.
I hope this clear your mind now.

That's a good controversial matter. There are two theories. One is called "Hen First Theory" and the other is called " Egg First Theory". Both of them are equally heavy-weight candidate. Till now, when I write this answer, there is no report as which one is potentially more eligible. Wait until I get that. I'll forward it to you as soon as I manage to have it.

in terms of animals....hen will come first...and it will simply lay eggs and those will grow into a healthy chicken..and produce more eggs....
but anatomically speaking..it's the EGG will come first..then it goes on and on....
