I get the same thing, and have for many years. It's annoying and disturbs your sleep. I have found that eating bananas seem to correct the problem. It's caused by a muscle contraction or spasm. Bananas are high in Potassium and seem to fix the problem, so now i eat a banana every few days, and it doesn't bother me now. I don't think it's a threat to your health. I ask my doctor about it, and he said it was a muscle spasm, and he could give me a muscle relaxant for it, but I didn't want to take those things due to them making me useless the next day due to the lingering effect. Good luck!

I believe mind never sleeps but the body does. That is why we dream. If you experienced fatigue and keeps on worrying before you sleep, chances are you experienced that involuntary movements. The best way to overcome is to keep your mind at ease and do not dwell on negative things in your thoughts but keep your mind relax.

Nightmares are the most common causes for the violent inviluntary movements during sleep. Try overcoming it. Otherwise there is no treatment for it.

Its normal to "twitch" or have a spasm just before sleep and during sleep. There's nothing you can do, maybe a sleeping agent would help with this but I'd consult your doctor. But its completely normal

That's a disease. The have medicine for that. Go to your doctor and let him/her know. Mostly envolving your legs though. It's called Restless Leg Syndrome and it's a ***** to deal with. It makes it hard to sleep, but medicine is prescribed for that and it helps alot, trust me.
