Just thing about water, for example. If water didn't change between the gas and liquid phase, things would be quite different...

...a lot of the rain that falls is from evaporation of sea water...sea water evaporates to a gas, then falls back to earth as fresh water. That's just one example...there are plenty more...think about it!

the changes in matter are important because certain matter is not always in the state in which we humans can use it to our benefit. hence by being able to cange matter's state its properties changes to some extent enabling us to have better uses that benefit us the most. like water in the liquid state is good to rink and so on but is not able to make stuff cold; in its solid state, ice, it can do that for us. hope this helped. peace.
