Overall Intel Core 2 Duo is currently the king of the hill !!! No current AMD processor from 64, X2 to FX-62 comes close.

Price: AMD dropped prices from X2 models down. w/c is still at par with Intel CPU prices.
Quality: Intel remade their whole production line just for these new processors. AMD makes little factory changes.
Performance: results show a 40% better than comparable CPU models from AMD.
Overall: Performance per watt is also better. And the things I said above tells you that Core 2 Duo is better. If you want to make additional readings, go to Tomshardware.com (these guys are somewhat leaned towards AMD but they admit Intels new Core 2 Duo is way better.

http://www.tigerdirect.com also has good pricing but watch out for their customer service it is not verry good if you have a problem.

if u will go for ibm, hp, or lenovo. These are branded computers. u should assemble a computer wich will b less in cost and wich will function more greater then these branded computers. Take a hardware engineer help and assemble a computer. U need to buy a cabinet, harddisk, cd rom, motherboard, processor etc

Packard Bell for productivity
HP for more power/processing time
IBM for business
Lenovo for entertainment
Dell for MOST of the above
last But not Least...ACER for superior graphical display,buy those gaming series...get rewarded with superb respond time...(p.s.THE above applies If the system is running with Dual Core Processers....)

.....go to the market get parts seperately

harddisk, motherboard, RAM, CDDRIVE, DVD, floppy, etc...

get the help of a hardware engineer and assemble it

that is a best option....

lets choose....the choice is upto urs...

i just bought a dell a few months ago.

if i had it to do all over again,
hp is the way to go.
hp components are everywhere.
you have a variety of stores to choose from.

best computer is not important,IMPORTANT IS YOUR COMPUTER CONFIGURATION.

(WHICH HAS LOW COST..)
