The tree is 20 feet tall. Because any number plus half means that the number give is the other half.

a dog can run half way into the woods, then he is running out.

The tree is twenty feet tall. If the tree is anything plus half of its height, then whats left must also be half of its height, since we know that much is ten, then the tree is twenty feet tall. A dog can only run half way into the woods, after that he is running out of the woods.

This is a trick question because we don't know what the height of the tree is to know what half of it would be plus 10 feet.

The dog can only run halfway in before he begins to start running out.

20 feet- both halves are 10feet. 10+10=20
a dog can run half way into the woods

susaneliz.. here is my logic. Imagine you have a bar of chocolate and break it in half. Imagine you measured one half and it was 10cm. Now if i ask you what length the whole bar is you would say 20cm, because 10cm plus half of the bar of chocolate= 20cm.(same principle whether it is trees or chocolate or anything!)

Where is your logic?

Two questions for the price of one.
1) 15 ft (10 ft + half of 10 ft = 15 ft)
2) Halfway, then he's running out of it.
