A gentleman by nature is a man who would put woman's needs ahead of his own. But that is not equal standing, can't be a gentleman and treat a woman like an equal.

This is all a matter of opinion, so explain your answer please.

I treat people with respect, and would hope they could treat me with respect in return. It is nice to be treated like a lady, as long as it is not condescending, and I do believe that you can be respectful, while treating the lady as your equal. Men can still behave like a gentleman towards other men whilst not being condescending, I think it is a balance of the two.

Oh, I don't know, that's a tough one. I'd like a combination of both. I like the feeling of being taken care of by a man, but I also like a man to recognize that I'm equally as smart and strong as him and not treat me like less of a person.

I want to be an equal. All i want is for my mate to be the best person he can be and I will enable that. I want the same in return. I will NOT enable destructive behavior. I do not want to be coddled. if I am doing well, I want to hear all about that, if I am slacking or engaging in unhealthy behaviors I want to be called on that too. I want an honest life, not a life of role playing out social mores.
