\it also depends upon the type of tournament they are playing

The toll a 5 set match takes on the body is rather extensive. The matches can easily go in excess of 3 hours. In order to minimize the chance for injury, the women play 3 sets instead of 5. At many tournaments, men only play 3 sets as well. While it may seem sexist, there is probably some degree of truth to the male body being built for more intense physical activity.

Another contributing factor probably has to do with ratings. Up until recently, men's tennis was a significantly larger draw than women's tennis. Dedicating more court time to a less desirable demographic is not an intelligent business decision. However, the level of women's tennis has come up quite impressively, and the abundance of new eye candy may change the marketability of the female game. However, I imagine women will still play 3 sets to minimize the chance for injury and make the 3 sets played more intense and interesting.

It has always been this way more so within the past of men being stronger, more fit, but that no doubt has changed through the years. However despite men playing best of 5 but only in slams now, all the other tourneys are like the women in best of 3. While I am a fan of the womens game and glad for equal money and such, I think at least in semis and finals they should do a 5 setter in The 4 Slams. If the men play best of 3 outside of slams, Imnot sure if in slams womens game will ever be best of 5 but again at least in the last 2 rounds it should and make it more interesting. Not so long agao in the year end championships with the women it used to be a best of 5 final, and they stopped it. I think they should bring it back and not just there but all 4 Majors. Check those oturnamnets you emntioned, Masters Series etc cause I dont thinkt hey are best of 5 anymore.

because men are more powerful than women they have more power to continue the game sets
if you have seen a tennis match men do not scream that is very normal but when women play they scream all the time.
but on the other side may be the ''law'' of the tennis game that men play 5 set and women only three.

Men can play more than women because of the make-up of their bodies are different and that way, men are stronger. Do you see any game in which man plays with a woman?

Because Genetically women are not strong enough to play five sets. Making them play five sets will make them get tired very quickly and also cause lots of injuries

I think it is this way in the Slams, because of TV and other factors. Women did play best of five sets on occasion, like the Tour Championships final, and I think the event in Key Biscayne, but not anymore.

Actually, the French is the only tournie where they get paid less. Just part of ITF rules that women play less(I guess due to the belief that women can't play as long as men).
