be respectful,so that you will get a good referral on your next job when they call your last employer.
Give them 2 weeks notice to find time to replace you out of common decency.
give them an ultimatum to show that you are the one in control of the situation.
give them a chance to resolve your discrepancy i.e. "If you cant take care of a good emplyee, Ill find someone who will! I really need more money per hour (a well deserved raise) and if you cant give that too me, then consider this my two weeks notice"
be firm and confident when you approach the boss. Make them think that you already have your mind made up.
No employer will hate you because you want to quit for a better job, and to better yourself.
Oh by the way, it helps if you already have a better job lined up before you quit!

(I am a manager). I would suggest that you make sure that you have another job, if your plan is to quit, and let your boss know that you have found a better opportunity and that you are giving two weeks notice. (As a manager, I would respect that, if I wanted to keep you, I would ask into your satisfaction with working in my company, and see if something can be worked out. If he does not try this, then it is best to go, as there likely is no plan for raise). It is best to give two weeks notice. By the way, if you give an employer as a reference, at least in the US, they are not able to bad mouth you at all, but can only say whether you are employed or not and for how long you have been employed. If people are saying more than that, you have legal rights.

First find a Job! Accept the new job. Prepare a resignation letter that does not burn bridges. Hand in the letter personally, be firm but polite. Do not turn back even if he makes a counter offer. For better or worse you have made a decision for the future. If as you say you are leaving "a dumb retarded company" then things can only get better. However from the tone of your question, I suspect things are not likely to change much until you start having more positive language and attitude!!!

I would become my own Boss at No Cost! Really I did it and it worked! I had the same problem!, My friend Since you already have a computer I would try this! I have been working for SFI for the last 2 months and have found that this site is safe and legit, I hated the scams that the Internet had to offer, I would tell you to also look into SFI for the possibilities of the check amount are endless, You get free resources on hand and there is hidden cost or charges toward you, in your resources you will find Free Flyer templates, E-cards, Websites that are already done for you, and your own on line store and you get to work your own hours! All this for free! who could ask for more? I use to be the type to say "If it sounds to good to be true, Then it is to good to be true!." This I have a wayward feeling on now that I have seen what SFI has done for me!, I wish you the best in your search for the right business opportunity but If I were you I would look into this one! Opportunity Knocks, Are you going to answer this door? If you need any further help or have any questions about SFI I would be more than glad to assist you, I have also constructed a short SFI starter presentation that I could email you if you like, Just contact me At SFI_Landeros@yahoo.com and I can assist you further, Again Good Luck and I hope for your success! http://www.moreinfo247.com/9278838/free

Let me get this straight, it is a dumb retarded company, but the do pay you to do a job and, even though your boss is a stingy bastard, they have been good to you. I think you should say to the boss, "I am going to do you a big favor. I quit."

Hey Key-C,
Since we never burn bridges when we leave any situation....
Hi, I know you are very busy today -- So I'll keep this very brief.
You have NO idea what this job has meant to me, but I have made the decision that I need to expand my horizons. I will be leaving your employ on ___/___/___. I know that I am giving you short notice, but based on my knowledge of your abilities, I know that you will have a qualified replacement here shortly. As a token of my devotion to this company, I will do my best to train this employee to give the job the attention that you know it deserves.
I don't know how to thank you.
I hope I added to your other responses! Good luck!

Either you tell him you found a better job, much better payed, or that you just have some family problems or other stuff like that and you need a lot of time to solve them.
What I would do, which is probably not the way to get best results, would be telling the truth. I have a major problem with lies.

NEVER quit a job without having another one lined up.
!st you need to talk to him ONE on ONE about a pay increase. Just might get a result there....have ya tried? If not then write a
letter of resignation giving your 1-2 weeks notice. Hand it over and say, "Thanks, but I have to move on to better things." Don't leave with a bad taste in your mouth.....(mad or smart elic remarks) it will haunt you later for a job reference.

FIRST: be sure you have another job to go to
then just be honest, tell them that you quit because
you found a better paying job & that you are giving your
TWO WEEKS notice ( or however many weeks
notice you have to give). Good Luck !
