McAfee should have a pop-up blocker along with the antivirus, unless you don't have the full version. If not, then here's a couple things you can do:
1. Click on "Tools" in the upper left hand corner when the internet page comes up. Scroll down to pop-up blocker, and then scroll over to and click on pop-up blocker settings. At the bottom of the box that appears, it will show you the levels of protection you want from pop-ups. Click on the "High: Block all pop-ups" and then you should be all set.
2. Download the Yahoo! Toolbar onto your computer. A pop-up blocker is installed within it to help block those annoying ads as well.

1. Make sure that your Internet browser supports a popup blocker.
2. If it doesn't install one. If you install FireFox/IE 7 both supports popup blocker.
3. If you are using IE6 or less than better go for a third party popup blocker. Google toolbar supports one.
4. Looking for free popup blockers? checkout the following place

Most of the Malware programs that infect your computer hide part of it in Hidden Files, Folders. This allows the program to restart or download again as soon as you finish the scan and removal. This Microsoft site has the proper removal procedure and the proper set up for AdAware SE for the best chance of complete removal.

IE-SPYAD adds a long list of sites and domains associated with known advertisers, marketers, and crapware pushers to the Restricted sites zone of Internet Explorer. Once you merge this list of sites and domains into the Registry, the web sites for these companies will not be able to use cookies, ActiveX controls, Java applets, or scripting to compromise your privacy or your PC while you surf the Net. Nor will they be able to use your browser to push unwanted pop-ups, cookies, or auto-installing programs on your PC.
