For glass: If a mobile object, hold the item, ie,candlesticks, under hot water. Don't hold under water that is scalding. You should still be able to touch the water with relative comfort. Otherwise, you will crack the glass. The wax should melt fairly easily. I've done this numerous times myself. You can also put the item in the freezer and then chip it off later. This works as well.
For leather, try brown paper over the top of area and gentle heat. The paper should soak it back up. First try a very small area.

For Glass, -
use Warm to Hot Water ( if its something llike a candle stick holder)
or place a piece of paper towel over the wax and use a Hair Dryer, to melt it. The paper towel will absorb the wax
On leather, or fabric, use ice to harden the wax then scrap as much off as possible. Place paper towel over and under the leather, and warm with a cool iron, or hair dryer.

Im not sure if it is the way ....although that's the way i've got constantly dealt with it. Use a hair dryer and permit the wax soften into oil and then do away with it with an previous rag. it is going to take approximately 3-4 circumstances counting on how oil based the candle grow to be.

take a rag or towel and put it over the wax then take a iron on full steam and go over it, it will melt the wax and continue until it is gone, this method also works on carpets
