the only problem I had was changing it when I had a nose screw. It's a little awkward to put in but you do get the hang of it. now i wear a nose bone. much easier for me personally.

I have most of my body parts pierced, and the one that cause me more trouble was my nose and upper ear. I had it done 13ys ago with a gun and it cause my nose to become very soft that the stud came out fully the other end, I've now got a scar with the hole it made. but what ever you do do not have it done by a gun, always have it done by needle, if a place offers it done by a gun then walk away as all it will do is shatter your cartilage in your nose, I had tongue and other body part done with the needle and had no problems at all. also if you have a spot and it is hard that a case of shattered cartilage as also i got the same after 13Y's of not wearing a stud in my top ear, it sound like you must have had the gun, if not then i go back to were you had it done and ask for advice

My nose piercing got infected about a week after I had it done. It kept seeping pus (sorry!) - I bathed it in anticeptic about 3 times a day, using a cottonbud to drip the anticeptic into the hole, AND on the inside of my nose. It took about 4-5 days to clear up and I left the stud in there the whole time, and kept it in without trying to remove for about another week. And since then I had no problems with it (this was about 10yrs ago!)

no difficulties with me, but I hadn't with my ear piercings either, I think if you have problems with piercings anywhere your nose will give problems too. I don't recommend letting it pierce in winter time, when it is done recently it might be sensitive for a few days, and with a cold that hurts a lot. With a cold you can better use a tiny ring, you don't blow that out if you blow your nose, I blew away some pins... yaikes
but good luck to you or your child

Yeah, I had exactly the same problem when I had a small silver ring through my nose. It was permanently sore. I changed the ring for a silver stud and have never had any problems since

My daughter got her nose pierced, but after a few days the ring fell out in her sleep and wouldn't go back in, so the hole has closed up, she said it wasn't painful though.

no, i can go months without wearing mine then put it back in and it's fine. Just make sure you keep it clean and if it doesn't get better soon go to the doctors, although don't expect them to be sympathetic they usually just tut at you. Mine did when my pierced ear went bad!!
