i need to know if there is an age limit on a brother and sister sharing a bedroom?

There's nothing wrong with a 10 year old and a 3 year old sharing. You have to do the best you can when you are not well off. I think it will be ok until the younger child reaches puberty. After puberty they should not share a room. If you are still in the same situation when that happens you could take the one that is the same gender as you to share your bedroom.

Don't worry because finances limit what you can do. Remember for hundreds of years people were 3 to a bed with their siblings. You do the best you can and if you love your kids that will be good enough.

I would say the age limit would be the age your daughter reaches puberty. When that occurs the sister will be around 13 years old and the brother will be around 6.
If they are still sharing the same room at that time you can bet you will have to deal with many fights and arguments between the two. The sister will start to want her privacy at that time and her brother will not let that happen.... I promise. :)

I would have thought any limit would be thought about by the parents who know their child (sorry I don't mean that nastily which is how it sounds). As the parents you know you child/ren and will know if it's still appropriate for them to be sharing. I'm sure there comes a time when an older child needs their privacy - especially for different sexes. If your daughter is nearing puberty I'm sure she'd appreciate her own space. Perhaps you could fix up a temporary wall or divide the room into two?

I shared a room with my brother when I was 14 and he was 10. We had bunk beds. I'm sure there is no age limit

There must be a separate room for girls and separate room for boys. Especially when they reach the age of 10 and above. But if they have the same gender, then it wold be ok if they'll share room until they reach the age of 20 maybe.

There is no age limit, it's entirely down to the parents.

But your daughter is going to start to want - and need - a bit of privacy quite soon.

If you mean as far as the council is concerned, I think 7 year olds plus are not expected to share rooms with the opposite sex, so you would have a good case for getting a bigger place.

my sisters and i lived in the same room until my sister was 18!!
so there is no age limit.
but you say you also have a son, so i think when he grows up a little more and starts understanding things, lets say in four or five years, they should live in different rooms - your daughter will want her privacy (it's not really comfortable to have your period when your 8 years old brother sleeping in the same room with you...) and your son would be happy to have a "boys room"...

Your daughter might not mind sharing with her little brother for 3-4 more years. Then is the time for you to make the decision about the chance of a 3rd bedroom.

I shared with my younger sister until I reached puberty, she is 14 months younger than me.

Wow we would love to be able to have that luxury, there are 18 of us all sharing the one room, sometimes if our grandparents come to visit us we are up to 19, that can be a bit of a squeeze.

the only way to tell is when she starts wanting the door closed.. this indicates a body change. it may not bother her now but will later. the law says once they turn 5 they should no longer be in shared rooms. really it is up to the the two in question, if she is comfortable then let it be... he isn't going to think much at his age
