What is the meaning of batch jobs in SAP? I heard it lot of times that batch jobs are different than background jobs. Is it so. Can anyone help me in understanding this. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I think mooncalf's simple answer is pretty much correct, though I'm not a basis consultant.

Things can happen in foreground (i.e. you watch them or execute them manually) or they can happen in the background (behind the scenes, but are executed only once and probably only when you run them manually or you can have batch jobs that run in the background at a predefined time, and possibly regularly.

You should go after what u feel is right. Don't stick around in a job that you don't feel comfortable. Remember you only live once on this earth, money doesn't mean everything. And that means pick another job thats comforting, not hating. Pray also to the lord he will listen! Best of luck! Greg
