I would wear a pair of simple black trousers and a very simple and plain blouse or shirt in a blending-in colour such as very light purple or yellow or pink or green. This way the interviewer would get a good look at how I would dress in the office on a normal day. Dressing in suits is a bit OTT because a simple office worker will not wear their best suit to work every day, if they did, that meant they were in a high power job so they can afford plenty of expensive suits. I think pink is a good colour because it shows that the person is approachable and good-natured. If they wear red then they may be after your job in time, so be careful! If long-haired then the hair should be tied back. Not too much make-up, just a little mascara and maybe lip gloss. Jewellery: just the bare minimum. In simple terms, a simple look is good for the office, leave the outrageous stuff for the parties and the weekend! You are here to work!!!

Dark pants or a skirt (knee length or longer-not shorter) and a lighter coloured shirt, open collar but not too low. I like to wear a nice scarf or neck tie aswell to make it a bit more induvidual, show a little personality, a little less " I am a suit" A nice fitted coat or suit jacket over this, something that complements the rest of the outfit. Oh and a pair of heels but not sky scrapers. And of course a nice smile :)
Any job i've gone for i've gotten! I just finished up on a job i longed to do so for a long time (it was seasonal work) And next week Im starting a new job that im very passionate about and worked very hard for. Watever they wear will not become a major issue once their personality and passion for the available position shines through :)

I would usually wear a fitted black suit I have especially for interviews. I'd team it with a crisp white shirt, collar folded over the top of the jacket, with black pointy shoes which have a small heel. I'd tie my hair back and keep my make-up natural with nails painted in clear varnish. All this would depend on the type of job I was going for of course, and who I think might be interviewing me.
I also have a black pinstripe skirt suit, the pinstripes are shimmery silver and the skirt is quite short so it's a very "modern" outfit which I have worn for previous interviews with fashion companies. I'd team this with a white shirt or other smart top, skin-coloured tights and killer heels to make my legs look longer as they'd be on show! I have often been complimented on my choice of wear by the interviewers when in this outfit!
However, for an office job interview I'd definitely go with the trouser suit as it's more traditional and would enable any potential employer to focus on my suitability for the post rather than how my legs/cleavage and make up look!

A Suit, with a camisole type top underneath so i would not get to hot and have to take the jacket off but would still look good and smart if i un-did the jacket buttons. Or i would choose some long tailored trousers with heeled shoes so all you could see was the toe of the shoe and a small amount of heel, with a smart and calming colour shirt. Nothing to brash always look for the neutral colours and clean shoes. And check the bag she comes with matches if it does not then you can guarantee she did not prepare her wardrobe for the interview in advance.

what you wear or look like shouldnt come into it, as long as the person is smart and clean thats all that matters. i had a job interview not that long ago and i wore a suit with a pencil skirt and i had my long hair up and normal make up for me which i admit so some may be a bit much as i kind of go for the fully made up look all the time. i didnt get the job because they said the other person would 'fit' better in the company. i was outraged because i am extremely qualified and i knew the job better than anyone else who had applied. but just because i didnt look like a solicitor, i didnt get the job. and by the way, my skirt went well below my knees and i didnt show one inch of my dd chest. i even more a minimiser bra.

Personally, I think it does matter what is wore to an interview. An interview is your chance to make that lasting first impression!
I would not dress too provocative, yet not too modest neither. I would dress comfortably, yet make sure my attire matched the profession I was seeking.
No company wants to hire a person that takes no pride in who they are as a person, and sure there are people that may not be able top afford the greater luxuries of life... but, that is no excuse to go in looking like you just crawled out of bed and picked your clothes up off the floor!
Common sense plays a huge role in this decision...

Smart dress for the office is usually a suit or at least matching seperates (jacket and skirt, Jacket and trousers) it's only professional to dress conservatively for a job interview unless its in media /creative when maybe a little leeway could be given.

A skirt suit. nothing too tarty but feminine. Not too much jewellery as it gives a tacky impression and not too much make-up. You want them to be professional not look as if all they are interested in is going out and pulling. Over all though a dress code and be put into place so what's most important is their attitude and ability to do the job. The cost of the clothes is not inportant it's how they wear them and if they are clean and smell fresh. goodluck with the interviewing.

White blouse because they look very smart probably showing just a tiny hint of cleavage, dark coloured fitted suit nothing to bright with a skirt just above the knee natural coloured tights or maybe black depending on the colour of the suit shoes to match with just a small heel to look elegant but not tarty and dont forget the underwear you would be surprised how confident and upbeat you feel when wearing really nice undies.

What you have to remember is that the person you are interviewing may not have to money to go out to buy new shoes suit etc,. So apart from the attributes for the job, look for clean, smart and tidy with a good personallity.
