Hi, happyflamepepper here. Sometimes people report others because they feel that an answer is inappropriate or abusive or insulting or racist or for a lot of other reasons. But one thing i do now for sure (100% sure) is that it is not necessarily the person who asked the question that has reported you but someone else that feels your answer was unfair. So when anyone receives a violation they should not jump to conclusions and assume that it was the person who asked the question who reported them as that is maybe not the case. Take care and enjoy Yahoo without worrying what others think. happyflamepepper xx

It really depends on the category and the nature of the question, doesn't it?
If one is dealing with a question with sexual preference, then one would expect an answer that deals with the subject frankly, yet without the use of vulgarity. I think allowances should be made here, in as much as an answerer may know only slang words for anatomy and/or activity. So, if you can't handle an answer, don't ask a delicate question. If visiting a category is likely to include information that may be offensive, then people should't go there.
In other categories, such as Y!A politics, community guidelines are pretty much out the window and a visit there is like going to a dog fight and reporting abuse in that forum is like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500.
As with all things, someone is going to register an objection about subject matter, verbiage, etc., in an answer or a question. Outside of this area, vulgarity and profanity have zero to do with giving a cogent answer, and usually denotes one possessed of either limited intelligence, education or vocabulary. It is obvious when someone is an idiot, which can't be helped, or trying to be inflammatory, and the latter of these people should be reported.
How's that for a *!&@^$$%!! answer to your $^#**&!@# question?

Honestly?/////perhaps they felt abused!
Reread what you wrote, and perhaps if you put yourself in their shoes, you'll be more understanding.
We all have feelings, and perhaps now your feelings are a little hurt......maybe that's what they felt...hurt and confused.
