Over the past 10 -15 years so called stars/celebrities are writing their Autobiographies younger and younger. I think this is a problem as a life hasnt been lived until over say 60 years of age? What do you think?

The age is getting beyond a joke. Soon someone will write one in their teens - or has that already been done?

I agree - an autobiography is surely once you have lived your life and made significant achievements - this is why celebrities are bringing out 3 or 4 in their lifetime - and making an absolute mint in the process.

I love Biographies, but don't usually read the ones about modern day celebreties, unless they really interest me, like Robert Deniro( who has achieved quite a bit).
I prefer the ones about everyday people ,who have either lived an interesting life or who are an inspiration in some way.

I read a book recently about Hans Christian Anderson, which was very interesting. It mentions that he wrote autobiographies about his life ,since being in his 20's, at least 1 a decade. He was also an avid letter writer, which helped later biographers to piece his life together. I thought that was interesting because not many people were writing autobiographies at such a young age, in his days. In his case I am happy that he did, as he was quite fascinating and nothing like I expected, and if he had not contributed we would have a less factual opinion about him.

I am still not running out to the bookshop to pick up books about young footballers etc. the positive thing about them being on the shlef , is that younger people will be reading at least , as it is about their heroes etc.

It relies upon on the guy and their life. Dakota Fanning is purely 13 and could in all probability have a protracted exciting e book with the aid of fact she has performed lots in her life. the individuals off vast brother like Chantelle, they have performed no longer something and have no longer something to jot down approximately. i do no longer want to take a seat and look at how super it become to be a Paris Hilton seem-a-like for 5 chapters, purely so she will fill out a e book. Pete Burns is particularly youthful for an autobiography and his become super with the aid of fact he's lead an exciting life.

an autobiographie should be written at any stage in life if you think you have something to contribute to society that will improve our culture or well being. but not the pointless rubbish that most turn out, who have either achieved fame to early and snorted most of there money up there nose, then had a kid who they have farmed off to the inlaws or a nanny, so they can continue there prty filled life......wake up everyone and dissmiss this stupid culture we have fallen into

nothing has been the same sice john wayne died.

Yes I agree, but some peole have experienced such a lot in their young lives, perhaps they think that if it's never written they might well forget about it.

And of course there is the money side of things, they do make money out of what they sell.

Yes, I agree with this, your life is well... your life, not half of it, or till your are 30.

Then again, the publishers and the celebrities themselves know that the chances are that by the time they are say, 60 no one would want to read their story anyway.

I mean, who the hell would want to read about Victoria beckham or ronan keating or some-such in 30 yrs time, we probably won't even remember them.

i agree
i think it could be a few things
-they may have felt that they have experienced & gone through enough when actually they havent indirectly shortchanging themselves or could be after 20yrs they will write another book
-they know they have a short fame shelf span so better to
make more money out of it (like sell merchandise & biographies)
