You could try, but it will be expensive. For example http://www.nghapartments.co.uk has maybe 200 one-room furnished flats for rent (out of 500+ in Nell Gwynn House) but they rent for £500 and up per week.

I don't think I've ever seen a flat share with 12 rooms in the one apartment/house. Maximum is usually about 5-6 bedrooms.
My favourite London property website is www.rightmove.co.uk as it has lots of search options that lets you narrow down your search.

You'd need an immense budget to pull this one off. Maximum bedrooms - even in houses costing millions - is usually around 7. Then with 2/3 reception rooms and a kitchen, you're still not close. And that would cost you big, big bucks...

Windsor Castle....bit far out really
You have have to contact English Heritage but im sure they will help you.
Granted we all live in castles over here but these are ones i know to be free
